Workshops in social organizations

Addressing social inequalities in health

We work with various social organizations to provide support to women who are victims of violence, former prisoners, people with a migration background often marked by violence, etc. These members of the public considered “vulnerable to health risks” form groups of great diversity : proficiency in French, social and cultural background, level of education and knowledge, etc.

Social inequalities in health are systematic, avoidable and significant differences in health observed between social groups. These social health inequalities also imply less autonomy from a health point of view. : lack of knowledge about social rights and assistance, lack of knowledge about resource centers, difficulties in asking for help, discrimination in access to care, etc.

Our work, which is primarily in co-construction with the reception facilities, therefore, covers several angles. The first is to restoring an active posture and the power to act in people by our participative and non-judgmental approach. The second is to make fundamental knowledge about health accessible : anatomy, reproduction, contraception, STI prevention, definition of sexual violence and consent.

Our workshops are also an opportunity to create a space for discussion on the relational dimension of sexuality through the development of psychosocial skills, with a particular focus on identifying and expressing emotions, communication and the issue of sexual consent. The issues of self-respect and respect for others are given a great deal of attention.
