Equality between girls and boys in early childhood care
Numerous studies have shown that girls and boys receive through attitudes, words and interactions, different implicit messages that influence their behavior and choices from a very young age. The IGAS report* on “equality between girls and boys in early childhood care” notes that practices, although perceived by professionals as neutral, actually reinforce stereotypes. This differentiation does not offer the same learning and skills development opportunities to girls and boys, thus helping to perpetuate inequalities.
