A popular education approach
Create spaces for dialogue by establishing a caring and open environment, conducive to free speech and the development of shared reflection. Encourage the active participation of
people through the use of dynamic tools that encourage debate and invite everyone to take a stance and argue their case. Invite everyone to observe their reactions and behavior and encourage them to question their own emotions and feelings.
The approach of L'œil du Loup and its contributors is to listen and understand, and to roll with the resistance. We are also able, whenever necessary, to provide answers and factual, scientific or historical information, while avoiding the pitfall of an overbearing stance by experts who are only present to provide “the right answer”.
An active method
We use facilitation techniques that place the participants at the center of the session, of which they are the actors. In the course of the discussions, the floor is opened up so that they can ask questions and try to answer them. Debate is used here as a dynamic tool that calls on critical thinking in order to move beyond platitudes and automatic thought processes. It is about learning to argue, and thereby clarify one's thinking by questioning one's own judgments and those of others, confronting contradictions and accepting to be moved from within.
